Design solutions tailored for the outdoor environment including, but not limited to, furniture, seating, and accessories.

Case goods and other storage solutions for both commercial and residential applications.

Tables designed for commercial use including, but not limited to, conference, side, and work tables and desks.

RESIDENTIAL TABLES

Tables designed for residential spaces, including consoles, desks, coffee, occasional, and dining tables.

CONTRACT SEATING

Seating solutions designed for commercial environments, including benches, stools, sofas, guest, task, and conference seating.

RESIDENTIAL SEATING

Seating solutions designed for residential spaces, including lounge seating, sofas, and accent chairs.

EMERGING/INDEPENDENT DESIGNER

Product/Industrial designers whose business is 0-5 years old and/or whose 2022 and 2023 annual revenue is less than $500,000. 

SUBMISSION FEE: $75

MADE IN THE BOROUGHS

Products made in any of the 5 NYC boroughs--Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island.

ICONIC PRODUCT

Products exhibited at NYCxDESIGN affiliated shows (ICFF, Wanted Design, etc.) or events prior to May 2022 or sold, manufactured or shown in NYC prior to May 2021.

STUDENT PRODUCT DESIGN

Product designs (including, but not limited to: accessories, architectural products, fabric, furniture, kitchen + bath, lighting, and wall covering) created by graduate or undergraduate students currently enrolled in a accredited design program. Fall 2023 graduates will also be accepted.

EXHIBITION/INSTALLATION

Purpose-driven approach to artistic creation designed for public engagement, including visual, multimedia, and immersive art created in direct correlation to the design principles of its intended venue.

GRAPHICS + BRANDING

Visual identities and branding solutions that communicate a cohesive and compelling narrative, including environmental signage & wayfinding, marketing collateral, packaging, websites, books, and typography.

CORPORATE OFFICE

Headquarters or center that serves as the primary workplace for employees of a business including, but not limited to, finance, law, and consumer goods. 

CREATIVE OFFICE

Design-forward office spaces tailored to the needs of creative industries including, but not limited to, fashion and lifestyle, media, and firm's own.

CO-WORKING OFFICE

Shared workspaces designed for collaborative and flexible use.

TECH OFFICE

Office environments tailored for the technology sector.

OFFICE RESTORATION/RENOVATION

Renovated or restored office spaces that breathe new life into existing structures.

EDUCATION

Educational spaces that prioritize learning experiences, from primary school to higher education.

Entertainment and audience experiences that may include, but not limited to, theaters, stage sets, film sets, live performances, theme parks, and attractions.  

HEALTH + WELLNESS

Medical or wellness spaces, including hospitals, clinics, senior living, spas, and wellness centers.

HOTEL

Hospitality spaces that provides lodging and accommodation, including chain and boutique hotels.

HOTEL RESTORATION/RENOVATION

Renovated or restored hotels that blend modern amenities with the preservation of historical or architectural character.

RETAIL/POP UP

Retail spaces and pop-up stores designed to attract and engage customers.

RESTAURANT

Commercial spaces designed for optimal dining experiences, including fine and casual dining, counter service, and coffee shops.

LOUNGE/BAR

Hospitality spaces where patrons gather to enjoy drinks and/or socialize.

APARTMENT

Residential spaces within multi-family buildings designed for single households.

FREESTANDING HOUSE/TOWNHOUSE

Attached or detached homes designed for single households.

MULTI-UNIT RESIDENTIAL BUILDING

Multi-unit residential buildings designed to accommodate diverse living arrangements.

RESIDENTIAL RESTORATION/RENOVATION

Renovated or restored residential spaces, including apartments, freestanding houses/townhouses, and multi-unit buildings.

RESIDENTIAL LOBBY/AMENITY SPACE

Designated areas within a residential development that are designed to provide additional recreational, leisure, or functional benefits for tenants.

RESIDENTIAL SALES CENTER/MODEL APARTMENT

Dedicated facilities or spaces designed to showcase and promote the sale of residential properties.

COMMERCIAL LOBBY/AMENITY SPACE

Designated areas within a commercial development that are designed to provide additional recreational, leisure, or functional benefits for tenants.

SHOWROOM

Retail space designed to display and showcase products, merchandise, or services to potential customers.

KITCHEN + BATH

Design solutions for kitchens and/or bathrooms.

 LANDSCAPE/OUTDOOR

Outdoor areas designed to harmonize with the natural environment, inlcuding, but not limited to, parks & recreational spaces, streets & plazas, and rooftops. 

BUILDING FACADE

Architectural facades that contribute to the overall identity of a building.

STAIRCASE

Innovative and aesthetically pleasing stairwell designs that serve as focal points within interiors.

ON THE BOARDS

Residential and commercial projects that are currently in the design or construction phase that have not yet been completed.

NEW YORK CITY'S SHINING MOMENT

A project that is “quintessentially New York”, one that embodies some aspect of the city's culture.

 

ICONIC PROJECT

Project located in the 5 boroughs, or within the tristate area, completed prior to May 2021 that continues to make its mark on the city and beyond.
